Strength Knows No Age
A film by Stephanie Bidwell, Kasady Harwood and Kseniya Moshykhina (2024 student film)
The film follows Michelle Thompson and her approach to work, fitness, wellbeing and personal growth as she gets older.
Michelle explains how she has continually developed her career. She began as a hairdresser and opened her first business at 18. Later, she trained in fitness and moved into fitness instruction and personal training. More recently, she has worked with the NHS delivering diabetes-prevention workshops.
She also talks about encouraging wellbeing, mental health, friendship and physical activity across different age groups. Looking towards the future, she hopes to work with older people in care homes and believes that age should not prevent someone from continuing to grow and contribute.
The film was produced as part of Work Placement for Humanities Postgraduates – ENG 40057 and CPA4007 (Professional Practice), supervised by Dr Pawas Bisht.
